Create a Satire

This class will explore the elements of satire. During this class student will:
  • Learn the elements of a news article
  • ​Examine contemporary issues in the news 
  • Explore satire in writing and television
  • Write a satirical article about a current event or social trends similar to that of an Onion article  
  • Have the option to submit their article to a satirical website  ​
  • Note: ​​Class can be expanded to include television production whereby students produce short satirical news segments similar to those seen on Weekend Review on SNL.
